University of Gitwe Journals is an open-access, peer-reviewed platform that publishes high-quality scholarly work across multiple disciplines. Contributions are welcomed from both internal and external authors, with special encouragement for early-career researchers.

Publication Fees

There are no fees for publication; our journals are fully open-access and free for all contributors.

Copyright Notice

Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. This allows others to share the work with proper acknowledgment of authorship and initial publication in the journal.

Authors may also distribute the published version through other channels (e.g., institutional repositories, books) with acknowledgment of the journal’s publication. Pre-publication posting online is encouraged to foster engagement and visibility.

Submission Checklist

University of Gitwe Journals values research that links theory and practice. Contributions should:

• Be evidence-based, connecting empirical findings with theoretical insights

• Address practical, policy, or scholarly relevance

• Engage with local, national, or international contexts

• Be accessible to a broad readership

Accepted article lengths (including references):

• 2000 words

• 3000 words

• 4000 words

Each article should include:

• A sharp, clear title (2–6 words)

• Author name(s) and affiliation(s)

• A stand-first (10–18 words summarizing the main argument/idea)

• An abstract (75–150 words, unstructured)

• Up to 5 keywords

• Main text with short headings/subheadings (no more than 2 levels)

• References (max 12, Harvard style)

Formatting: Word document, 11-point Arial, double-spaced, left-justified. Use UK English spelling. Notes only as endnotes.

Peer Review

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Reviewer and author identities are concealed to minimize bias. Editors manage the process and ensure manuscript files are stripped of identifying information before review. Feedback is anonymized for authors.
